When a paper manufacturing facility embarked on a major re-roofing project, they faced a critical challenge: keeping dust and debris away from their sensitive machinery and production areas.
Even the smallest contamination could disrupt operations, damage equipment, and lead to costly downtime.
The deck height varied between 25-35 feet, requiring precise execution and specialized equipment to ensure complete coverage. Additionally, the sensitive machine area needed to be closed for 2-3 days to facilitate installation, meaning our team had to work efficiently to minimize downtime.
Another challenge was the project’s scheduling constraints. The client required all work to be done during overnight shifts (7 PM to 7 AM) to avoid interfering with daily operations. With only two mobilizations planned—one for installation and one for dismantling—we had to get it right the first time.
Nusens deployed a team of experienced technicians to install Nu-Ceil™—our patent-pending CCS—beneath the joists and cross braces. Designed to capture dust and debris particles while allowing safe airflow, Nu-Ceil™ provided a seamless protective barrier.
To ensure maximum safety and efficiency, we used M.E.W.P. lifts to reach the varying deck heights. Our team maintained a ground spotter at all times, guaranteeing smooth operations in the active facility. Throughout the installation, we coordinated closely with the facility’s team to manage access, material staging, and scheduling—keeping disruptions to an absolute minimum.
As the re-roofing project progressed, the Nu-Ceil™ system effectively trapped dust and debris, preventing contamination in production areas and safeguarding critical machinery. The sensitive machine area was quickly reopened after installation, and the facility remained operational without interruption.
Once roofing work was completed, Nusens returned for careful dismantling, ensuring the site was left spotless and production-ready. By using Nu-Ceil™ instead of traditional containment methods, the paper manufacturing facility avoided costly additional labor while still meeting fire, safety, and building code requirements.
This project highlighted the power of innovation, precision, and efficiency. With Nu-Ceil™, the paper manufacturing facility was able to protect their operations without compromising productivity—proving once again that when it comes to containment, Nusens delivers.
